Advanced Technology

Fall 2007

 

Goals: 

 

·             Students will demonstrate skills in the basic functionality of software used for movie making, digital photography, digital painting, web page design, animation, and digital sound and music.

 

·             Students will demonstrate the technical knowledge needed to function in digital environment, including vocabulary, hardware and software requirements and problem-solving strategies.

 

·             Students will complete a substantive multimedia project using two or more media.

 

 

Students will need:

 

1.                           Notebook for materials

2.                           A USB Key—250 MB Minimum

3.                           2-3 CD-RW’s for backup—Students will be responsible for backing up their own work.

 

Important Information.

 

  1. It is expected that students in the class are interested in the content of the course and will take the course seriously.

 

  1. It is expected that students will use the lab resources for academic purposes only and not for “electronic playground” activity. This includes non-authorized game playing, reading e-mail, instant messaging, downloading music, and accessing inappropriate web sites such as myspace, youtube and addictinggames.

 

  1. Students will treat the lab and its equipment with respect and not deliberately cause it to malfunction.

 

  1. Students will not copy or interfere with the work of other students.

 

  1. Food is not permitted in the lab.  Students may have closed water bottles.
